The armor of God with thorny spear
Protects this sprout from danger near
Spindly spreading toward the Son
Danger thwarted…victory won
Succulent shoots, leathery skin
Grafted by God to spring alive again
Spreading forth all glory be
Joyful spirit leaves life so free
Pruned and fed and mulched so deep
Now I pray this rose to keep
Razor sharp so brightly smiles
So many laughs so many miles
And always, always, all the while
Blessed soul this child so mild
Of God this is there is no doubt
This bloom of love will not fade out
The Father’s touch as the Son recieves
Glory given and glory be
This rose of justice so softly shouts
That I Am Truth proclaimed out loud
And so it is and will ever be
This flower of of life magestically
Reaches yonder for all to see
Fragrant flower in heaven this life so free
Lives on and on and on…with the joy
Of the rose
